Der Reflextaster mit Hintergrundausblendung arbeitet mit Laserlicht nach dem Prinzip der Winkelmessung. Er verfügt über eine IO-Link-Schnittstelle mit Data Storage-Funktion sowie erweiterte Einstellungs- und Diagnosemöglichkeiten. Über die Schnittstelle können zudem die Einstellungen des Sensors (PNP/NPN, Öffner/Schließer, Schaltabstand, Fehlerausgang) vorgenommen sowie die Schaltzustände und Abstandswerte ausgegeben werden. Eine weitere Möglichkeit zur Einstellung bietet die Teach-in-Funktion. Über die zwei unabhängigen Schaltausgänge können z. B. Mindest- und Maximalwerte von Abständen oder Füll- und Stapelhöhen kontrolliert werden.
