Der Wassermelder liegt mit seinem Eigengewicht auf 4 Kunststofffüßen. Die Sensoren an der Unterseite sind ca. 0,5mm höher. Eine Untergrundbetauung wird nicht registriert. Für dauerhaften Unterwassereinsatz ist der SWM3.4 nicht geeignet (→ SWM5). Wenn der Sensor Wasser registriert, öffnet Kontakt 3-4, die rote LED zeigt den Alarm an. Die grüne LED zeigt Betrieb an. An Klemme 5-6 liegt im Normalzustand der 60k Ohm Meldelinien-Überwachungswiderstand, bei Alarm wird er gebrückt = 0 Ohm. Das Gerät darf nicht als sicherheitsrelevante Einrichtung verwendet werden.
