Der Reflextaster arbeitet mit einer Rotlichtlinie nach dem energetischen Prinzip und eignet sich, um Objekte ohne Hintergrund zu erkennen. Er ist dafür geeignet, Objekte mit gestanzten oder gelochten Oberflächen wie bei Leiterplatten oder Lochblechen immer sicher zu erkennen. Zudem können Objekte positionsunabhängig auf der Lichtlinie erkannt werden. Die IO-Link-Schnittstelle kann für die Einstellung des Reflextasters (PNP/NPN, Öffner/Schließer, Schaltabstand) und für die Ausgabe der Schaltzustände und Abstandswerte verwendet werden.
